Brighten Your Smile with Porcelain Veneers
Don’t like how your teeth look? If they’re misshapen, discolored, chipped or worn teeth, porcelain veneers may be the best way to improve their appearance. Unlike dental crowns which cover the entire tooth, dental veneers are a thin ceramic shell that is bonded to the front of the teeth.
Natural Tooth Preservation
To accommodate the dental veneer, a portion of the natural tooth structure must be removed. Dr. DuPont and Dr. Wilkerson use the latest porcelain materials and techniques to preserve a very high percentage of the natural tooth. The dental veneer typically does not require reducing all the way around the tooth, but just the front and top surfaces, leaving the inside half of the tooth untouched.
Beautiful, Natural Looking Results
Another advantage of porcelain veneers is the beautiful translucency they provide. Veneers for teeth created by layers of ultra thin porcelain material that interacts with the light just like natural enamel.
Long Term Solution
Porcelain veneers are a permanent restoration and designed to last for many years with proper care and maintenance. Unlike natural tooth enamel, porcelain material of dental veneers is highly stain resistant, so you can be sure your smile will remain bright and white.
Porcelain Veneers Procedure
The most important step for restoring your smile with porcelain veneers is the upfront consultation and treatment planning. The process for restoring your smile with porcelain veneers takes place over multiple visits. During these appointments, Dr. DuPont and Dr. Wilkerson will design, create and place the dental veneers.
Our dentists will spend considerable time one-on-one with you to discuss your treatment goals. Using 2-D and 3-D imaging, we will be able to mock up your proposed results so you can see what your smile will look like with porcelain veneers.
Once the teeth have been prepared, an impression will be made and you will be fitted for temporary dental veneers to protect your teeth while the final restorations are being made. In a few weeks, you will come for your final visit where the permanent dental veneers will be bonded to your teeth.
